Questions

Which two NFL teams share the most players?

The Dolphins and the Patriots, with 133 players who were on both rosters from 1960 to 2026. The full ranking is in the list above.

What counts as playing for a team?

Being on its roster in a season in the nflverse roster files: from 2002 on, at least one regular-season or playoff week as active, injured reserve or inactive (practice squad alone does not count); 1960–2001 use the season rosters. Old team names count for today's franchise.

How do these lists help with the NFL Grid?

Each NFL Grid square asks for a player who played for two teams. The list for that pair has every valid answer, ordered by seasons, so the best-known names come first and the rarest picks last.
