How to play NBA Wordle
- Type a player's name and pick him from the list. The surname is enough.
- Each guess gets seven tiles: team (the franchise he played the most seasons for), division, position, height, debut season, last season and NBA All-Star selections.
- Green is a match, orange is close, and the arrows point toward the answer.
- Stuck? Reveal a clue: position, career, height, All-Star selections, number of franchises, college, main team, then initials.
- You have 8 guesses. A new daily player comes at midnight UTC; unlimited mode deals a new one every round.
Seasons are written by the year they start: a debut of 2003 is the 2003-04 season. The 1,418 possible players are every NBA All-Star and Hall of Famer plus the players with eight or more NBA seasons whose career reached 1970-71 or later, from the infoboxes of English Wikipedia's player articles (CC BY-SA 4.0). Two players who share a name are told apart by their years.
NBA Wordle: guess the NBA player in 8 tries: questions
How does NBA Wordle work?
A well-known NBA player is hidden. Type a name and pick it from the list. Each guess gets a row of tiles: green means the fact matches the hidden player, orange means it is close, and the arrows point toward the answer. You have eight guesses, and you can reveal clues one at a time.
What do the colours mean?
Team: green for the same main team (the franchise he played the most seasons for), orange when the hidden player also played for that team or it is in the same division. Division: orange for the same conference. Position: orange for a shared position or the same group (guard, forward, center). Height: orange within two inches. Debut and Last: orange within three seasons. All-Star: orange within two selections.
Which players can come up?
About 1,400 notable NBA players: every NBA All-Star and Hall of Famer, plus players with eight or more NBA seasons whose career reached 1970-71 or later. The daily player comes from the best-known 700 of them.
How are seasons written?
By the year a season starts: a debut of 2003 means the 2003-04 season. Career years elsewhere on the site are calendar years, so 2003–2023 means 2003-04 to 2022-23.
When does the daily player change?
At midnight UTC, the same player for everyone. Unlimited mode deals a new player every round.
Is this the real Wordle?
